City of Santa Monica California legalizes Online Dating and Matchmaking
The city of Santa Monica, Ca. has officially legalized matchmaking and online dating!
What does this mean for the good citizens of Santa Monica? Absolutely nothing other than a nice little lesson in red tape and bureaucracy. Your hard earned tax dollars at work, people! In looking at the resolution, it’s understandable how the city would not want someone to run an escort service, but “personalized matchmaking” is a far cry from a prostitute showing up at your front door at 2am. Matchmakers, especially in the LA area are the next big thing, according to an unnamed professional matchmaker I spoke with a few weeks ago. Singles in LA are tired of the online dating scene and are looking for a more personalized introductory experience. Instead of browsing through hundreds of profiles (and sending out as many “Hi, my name is so-and-so and from your profile I see that you like to do stuff on the weekends, so do I!” introductory emails) hopeful singles in LA are turning to matchmakers to find them the love of their life….or something similar.
